Paul LePage’s first major initiatives, when he became Maine’s governor in 2011, were to roll back state environmental laws and stop a ban on bisphenol A (BPA) in baby bottles. The initiatives were drafted by his special adviser, a registered lobbyist for many of the affected industries.
